The Cause....
Proceeds from this year’s Wishlist's Row For Cancer will continue to support the new $3million "Reed Charity House" accommodation facility donated to the community by the Reed Charity Foundation.
The 20 room, three storey building provides much needed assistance to patients of Nambour Hospital and their families.
As the second stage of the Wishlist's ongoing support of local cancer patients, the facility offers affordable, communal-style accommodation to patients of the Cancer Centre at Nambour Hospital. The Cancer Centre was opened at Nambour Hospital in 2006 after the Health Foundation’s five year $1.7million fundraising campaign provided a local multidisciplinary Centre to reduce the need for patients to travel to Brisbane.
Not only cancer patients but family of patients in intensive care, the dialysis unit and children’s ward and nursing mothers of premature babies in the Special Care Baby Unit also are benefiting greatly from having a comfortable bed and somewhere to relax right beside their loved ones at Nambour Hospital
